Philly Show - December 1-3

Philly show is this weekend. Who is going, who is set up, and what are you looking for?

I will be there Saturday. Always a good time at this show.

roarfrom34 11-29-2023 05:14 AM

I should be there Saturday........

I'll be set up against the far wall opposite of the entrance. Will have mostly post war baseball with some pre war sprinkled in. Have some really nice 1949 Leaf SPs that are fresh to the hobby

philliesfan 11-29-2023 06:28 AM

I tried to get a table for the show but was not successful. I guess I will be there as a paying guest sometime on the weekend.

I’m be there, most likely Friday afternoon. I’ll bring a few trades (postwar graded) and a flew bucks to spend.

Unfortunately, I will not be at this particular show/date. This is a great show and has been getting better each year. There is some really great vintage, awesome dealers, and many Net54 peeps. If you have never been, I highly recommend making the trip.

Jewish-collector 11-29-2023 02:03 PM

I, too, unfortunately won't be able to go. :(

NYYFan63 11-29-2023 02:04 PM

I will be there Friday afternoon.

Booth 110 straight through the doors on the left towards the back. Tom Botticelli will be with me with his usual amazing assortment of Pre War.

I also tried to get a vendor booth ever since the last Philly show ended but was not successful. Beginning with this show, I am starting to enforce my own policy, if I can’t set up at a long distance show, I can’t make the trip worthwhile financially and will not attend any show that I am not given an opportunity to sell at. Maybe if enough people took this position and attendance drops enough, sone changes might be made by the management teams at these big shows. Until then, I don’t see anything changing and I don’t need to be a part of them in any capacity.

Will be there, in spirit! Absolutely love the Philly Show. My Father has been quite ill lately, and I'm taking care of him. Hope everyone has a fantastic time.

I will be setting up for the 3 days. Booth #617. I carry PSA, some SGC graded t206 cards, grades 1-6. commons, Hall of Famers, Southern Leaguers, and of course rare backs. Also graded t202's, t205's, and Ecards. Stop by and take a look and say hello.

Will be there Friday and Saturday walking the floor. If anyone has a 33 Goudey Gehrig or a 49 Bowman Jackie - please let me know.

Well about an hour or so ago I received an email that they have 4 standard booths available $600.00 each and a specialty booth at $450.00 available due to cancellations.
I was able to confirm I will have a standard booth. HOORAY!
So, I will be going crazy tomorrow getting things ready....ugh

Glad you were able to get a table. Shocked they had some available.

You will be missed. I hope you will give your self-imposed policy a second thought and reconsider attending. Just having you in the room makes any show better.

They only had tables/booths because of cancelations. Now I can only hope to raise funds for a partial new roof on my house..........

How did you do at the show?

philliesfan 12-06-2023 07:30 PM

I did really good. Better than I expected, especially because of where my table was. I sold a few high end cards.....Walter Payton rookie PSA 8, T206 Chance PSA 4, some unopened wax.....1984 Topps Hockey boxes. And I sold a lot out of my price as marked box.....1984 T Mattingly rookies etc most high end PSA if sent in. So, I did make enough to pay for a new partial roof on my house.

The really fun thing is that my brother was with me all day on Saturday. We are very close and last December he bought the house next to me. Then on Sunday, my son was with me all day. It was a blast. Even if I did not make anything, it was well worth it spending those days with my brother and son.

Bob,

Glad to hear you did well. Was most of your buying from dealers or patrons?

It probably helped you were a new dealer there. I went to the show as well and lots of stale cards there. New dealers being there helps.

philliesfan 12-07-2023 12:15 PM

Someone affiliated with the show bought a lot on Friday along with many dealers. I would say in all, most sales were to dealers on Friday and Saturday morning and patrons on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. I would say sales were split 60% dealers and 40% patrons for the weekend.
Thanks,
Bob
