Heritage Auction Results....Hank Greenberg Annis Fur 18K with hammer...

Any other amazing results from the auction? Wonder who won the Greenberg? Pop 3 None Higher

Greenberg

I can tell you who did NOT win that Greenberg, i.e., me.
I was high bidder going into O/T, then it shot up 3-fold after that.
Unbelievable lot!

Cobbs

Also, I was actually very surprised on the prices of the Dietsche Cobb postcards--seemed like pretty low prices. Had I not been after the Greenberg, I'd have bid on those! Someone is happy today, I bet.....

I went up to 8k...was trying to upgrade mine....thought it would get pricey but wow!

It's interesting to me that this Annis Furs set sold for 9 times Heritage's estimate of $2,000. I'm probably weird, but like to check Heritage's results to their estimates for the items on my bid and watch lists. A couple more examples - 20 of the 27 T206 Drums and all 7 T206 BLs sold for less than the Heritage estimates.

That was not a complete set. A complete set consists of 23 cards. It did not include Carl Fischer. But 22 of 23 is not bad.

Drums

I agree that the T206 Drum backs were going lower than expected. After I was outbid on 72 other T206's, I was still in the running on the Drums and ended up getting one of them, the Wiltse which was a very nice 2.5. I liked it better than the PSA 3's, which seemed over graded to me. Sometimes over grading leads to cards falling short of Heritage's estimates. I did win a nice T206 Jimmy Collins card, but I was outgunned on all the rest of the upgrades I was tracking. Thought there might be some steals to be had, but no such luck except for the Drums and some of the Broadleafs.

I thought that Wiltse was great, was bidding on him as well.

Won three of the Drum's, was surprised what they went for--

Drum backs

Jeff, those are great pickups!

I think it's funny/ironic that heritage literally just finished the auction for that jack Barry Drim, graded by PSA, and Heritage has another one in their current auction that they are advertising as the ONLY PSA graded copy. Heritage needs to research their listing better.

Somebody agreed with you. The SGC 3 Cobb went for $6K with BP, and somebody just bought it on MySlabs, one month later, for $7322.50.
