Chance had played his last game as a player in 1911( a few after that as player/manager). <BR><BR><a href="http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?auction_id=1695&auccat=Baseball" target=_new>http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?auction_id=1695&auccat=Baseball</a><BR><BR><BR>I am not sure a bat used to take infield would warrant the title of game used or $14K. Beyond that, I don't have a feel for the value-- other than, it goes without saying that a HOFer's mananger's bat is worth less than one during his playing days.

Posted By: <b>Todd</b><p>Who gives a damn and how would you know it was game used? Dean Chance only hit .066 for his career,i.e. bat almost never hit ball. Twins fans used to weep openly when he stepped in the box with two out and men on base. The world's absolute worst hitter, I think he had about 5 more lifetime hits than I did. Come to think about it, his game used bat should be worth some dough, seeing as he probably only used one his whole time in the big leagues. <BR><BR>Oh, you were discussing Frank Chance? <BR>As Emily Littella would say: "Never mind".
