An update for the 2005 Standard Catalogue... 1910 J=K Candy
Posted By: Scott
Seeing as I've been going through my collection again recently (especially after having found this board) I decided to spring for the 2004 Standard Catalogue today to replace the last one I bought in 2000.

Well, I started going through it tonight and found, to my delight, that there is a new listing for an E-UNC set (at least I don't remember seeing it listed in previous guides) called 1910 J=K Candy.

Much like my 1910 All Star Baseball Package cards which I scanned and set to Mr. Lemke several years back to expand the known checklist at the time, I will be happy to report the following two additions to this obscure set.

Bill Carrigan
Harry Davis.

That is, unless I've misidentified them but I don't think so based on the picture listed in the Standard Catalogue.

The Carrigan card is slightly bigger than the Davis card and is beheaded right where the box ends and the rest of his head would be on tab where the box opened.

Regards,

Scott

An update for the 2005 Standard Catalogue... 1910 J=K Candy
Posted By: dan mckee
These are identified correctly. I have several uncataloged, problem is, I paid a premium because they were uncataloged, if I have them catalogued, I lose $$$. Well, I seem to be a pro at losing $$$ anyway.

Posted By: Scott
I guess the set collector in me is more excited about being able to expand the set checklist rather than worrying about what value might be attributed to them.

Of course, I have to admit, that if I had bought these recently and paid a premium for them, I'd probably be thinking a lot more along your lines.. so I understand your point and regret your loss in $$$.

I'm fortunate to have had these lying around in my collection since the mid 70s (with no idea what set they came from) and was just excited to have finally been able to identify them.
