Posted By: Tbob
That horribly slow web page is going to cost them if they don't get it fixed soon. I got my catalogue yesterday and was all set to place some bids but their login page runs out of time and I couldn't access it...

Posted By: Scott Bob
I checked their web site. It is running much faster than three days ago. But I still couldn't place my bids yet since the "submit bid" button is missing. I guess they are trying to get the speed problem fix before they allow the bid war begin.

Posted By: Albie O'Hanian
It does say on the top of their home page: "Please note: the speed of the site will upgraded in several days"
I just placed a couple of bids without any problems.

Posted By: Bill Cornell
I spoke to Rob Lifson this AM - he called after I emailed them about a problem I had when trying to bid. They're trying to resolve a few technical issues. Good customer service!

Bill

Posted By: jay behrens
I have to agree, customer service has been very good. When I submitted my address for the catalogue, I got an email asking if my address was correct the way I entered it. If you've never lived in the country, my address would look unusual, so I appreciate that they would even take the time to double check the info rahter than just print a label and mail the catalogue.

Jay

Posted By: david
i live about five minutes from rob so i went to look at several of the cards this afternoon. some of them are quite amazing. one thing i noticed is that the just so in my opinion is in nicer condition then the n167 and that the kbats are all near mint condition with amazing contrast. there is still plenty of time to bid so i wouldnt worry about the speed of the page loads that much. and judging by some of the prices 6 hours into the auction a slow network doesnt seem to be effecting the auction that much

Posted By: TBob
I was able to access and place some bids. Still a tad slow but o.k. I don't think the fact that Mastro prices are going out of sight will appreciably affect the bidding amounts in Edward's action.

Posted By: Bill Cornell
The Robert Edward lots are going to be appearing on eBay when there are 10 days remaining (it's a variation on the Live auction functionality), so there are going to be a lot more potential bidders. Rob L. & Co. are pretty shrewd.

I wonder if SportsCardsPlus (next auction in May) will finally be the one that suffers from a saturation of high-end items. Probably not...

Bill

Posted By: petecld
That's right. He'll get good exposure but I can't see why anyone would bid via the eBay Live auctions - the buyer's screwing, uh, I mean, "fee" goes to 20%.
