I've seen The Unit when he was at his best, but I don't believe I've seen anything quite as dominant as those last four innings. He was simply on a whole different level from everyone on the field. An 88 mph SLIDER in the NINTH inning? If you're over forty like I am, it makes the whole accomplishment that much more incredible. I've sweated like that just picking up my kid.<BR><BR>I'm not exactly a Braves fan, but you have to admit the crowd was right on target tonight. There were a lot of smart baseball fans who knew what they were seeing. The standing ovation at the end of the EIGHTH inning was pure class, and the Braves standing on the top step of the dugout in the ninth was a fine tribute to a great feat. Baseball at its best.

The teacher sent him home for listening to the radio in class...he was 17, high school senior.

I have the last 4 innings of the game on video tape somewhere in a box. I'm think Dave Stewart threw a no-hitter too, or came close that night.<BR><BR>Jay

Posted By: <b>Jimmy Scott Elkins</b><p>Yesterday afternoon before the game started I saw the ad for the game on TBS (Local Braves Channel). I was at my parents' home (my Mom is a huge Braves fan). Something told me that Randy Johnson was going to pitch a No-No, so I told my Mom that The Big Unit would pitch a no-hitter against the Braves. Too bad I couldn't have predicted it was going to be a perfect game! Anyway, those of you who bet on sporting events can relate to this - there are just teams that are going to win or events that are going to happen that one just "knows" before the game! The last time I did this, I predicted the score of John Elway's first Super Bowl victory 31-24 when the Broncos beat the Packers! I couldn't get any bets on the exact score, but did win a dime on the Broncos at plus 14! I have been a huge Randy Johnson fan for years and loved the game! In fact, told Brian Daniels I had to go before the ninth inning - didn't want to be talking on the phone when I knew The Unit was going to do it!!!!!!!!!

Wells and Cone's perfectos -- the benefit of being a Sunday season ticket holder in 1998 and 1999. The day after the Wells game I went up to Yankee Stadium and had him sign the Newsday cover as he was entering the Stadium, then promptly got my signed paper and ticket stub framed together.<BR><BR>I was also at Al Leiter's no-no in May 1996 against the Rockies. Not quite as exciting as the perfectos, but still cool nonetheless.<BR><BR>If you haven't been to a perfect game before, I highly recommend it. It's very exciting.<BR><BR>

Posted By: <b>John(z28jd)</b><p>I was at a minor league game last year and a guy had a perfect game thru 6 and they took him out,he was on a strict 60 pitch limit.Of course they bring in some bum who blew the game.<BR><BR>The same pitcher 2 starts later was bumped up to an 80 pitch limit and he struck out 13 in a 7 inning complete game and only went over the limit by a couple pitches.<BR><BR>The only 9 inning perfect game i attended was when i beat my friend on baseball simulator for nintendo.I had a pitcher who threw an actual cannonball and i used it whenever i had 2 strikes.He had to swing and the ball came in about 39 miles an hour,always a strike and it ended up as a weak grounder to the pitcher most of the time.<BR><BR>It was obviously memorable if i remember it 13 years later
