I remember telling Mark M about a trade, and he said "Let me get this straight. Your'e trading a Ruth, a Johnson, and some other stuff for a Cracker Jack Marquard?"

"Mark--you'd have to SEE the cards to understand their true worth..."

This here card has a GREAT HISTORY. It's the scarcest Ruth in the '35 Goudey set.. Anyway, see those few lines just above the center back? There's a big "1934" (incorrect) in pencil, real deep, there, which I erased as well as I can. The story-- I can't remember anymore. All I know is, for the longest time, whenever I borrowed $300 from a friend, I would send him this card. When I repaid it, he would send it back. Once I noticed that he hadn't even taken the card out of its rappings! So after that, I just borrowed $300, and the card stayed home.
It has great sentimental value...
Here are my ex-beaters! Wonder who has them now?

Posted By: Paul
My thanks to Julie for saving me the trouble of posting my card. My poorest condition card is my Standard Biscuit Ruth, shown in Julie's scan. Julie, it is now in a happy home. Despite all its flaws, it is a Ruth as a pitcher with the Red Sox, something I've always wanted to own.

JAY, WILL YOU TRADE YOUR THORPE?????

A very kind lurker sold the card to me along with a number other cards I needed/wanted. I've had the card in possession for about a week. No way I am about to part with any time in the foreseable future.

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. Posted By: rick
I am going to have to get me a scanner,
I am the proud owner of the most wrinckled, cracked, chipped, and anything else that can happen to a T205 Ty Cobb. It is in such bad shape that it makes Dave's Parent example look like it came right off the presses. I love this card. I carry it with me in my wallet at all times. It makes for a very interesting conversation piece. I can always show it as an example of what can happen to a card if you do not take care of it, and if it were mint it would be priceless, but as is it's worth a few bucks.
The card has an almost uniform brownness to it. I'm selling it now that I bought a nicer 1933 Goudey, in VG-EX condition.

I promise.
drum roll please.
Bill-- I like your Brown, hell the guy was missing a finger for god's sake what's a little crease anyway.
Brian, I am envious if your Johnson and Matty are your best cards with the worst condition. You must have a hell of a collection.
And Ryan,
From what I can tell, it is not wise to put a challenge out to this group. Someone will find that special card that looks like it spent it's life on the floor of the outhouse waiting to be discovered. Then and only then will we be able to see one challange for the title of "best card, worst conditon"
Healthily stained, of course, with some scuffing and creasing for good measure. I was tempted to write on it, if only to go for the cycle.
