Posted By: 1880nonsports
has bids. Ouch. Amazing what people will go thru - as there's more than one step involved in making a bad fake like this (it borders on the absurd and someone apparently bought the idea) - add to that some pretty hard to swallow ignorance on the part of the seller. Sorry I don't know tiny url or how to truncate this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-Judge-Cigarettes-M-Kelly-Advertising-baseball-bat_W0QQitemZ160313966891

truncated for my friend Henry (leon)

Posted By: Rhys
This bat actually sold once before on ebay for like $600 with a Buy it Now. I was doing a completed search looking for a card I had missed to see what it went for and stumbled on it after the fact. It is one of the more pathetic creations I have seen since the dawn of ebay fraud.

Posted By: dstudeba
I agree it is laughable, however the seller might actually be none the wiser. I once found a hideous fake tobacco sign (probably Tuxedo Tobacco) in a Demouchelles auction. When I emailed them about it they said that it was from an old time collection and that I couldn't tell if I didn't see it in person. After that experience nothing surprises me about Demouchelles.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
I know the guy who BIN'ed the bat and he got his money back with no problem...I would say the seller here is generally clueless, but I don't think he's trying to scam anyone. He didn't just relist it the same way...once he found out the bat was from the 1940's he put that in the auction.

Posted By: davidcycleback
My mom has always been into arts and crafts and does decoupage, which is the gluing of paper to objects. I once had har make me a 'decal bat' by gluing a picture of a Scrapps die cut onto an Adirondack. The blonde bat was obviously a modern model (to start, Adirondack was founded in the 1940s) and there's no such thing as a Scrapps bat, but it was scary how genuine the decal looked.
