Card Identification Help Needed

Posted By: Mike Brailey
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify 2 cards.

The first card is black and white and is of a left handed batter at home plate and the words "BASE BALL" written below home plate. It is a horizontal formatted card measuring 2 9/16" wide by 1 13/16" high. The following is printed on the reverse "No 202 SPORTS Posstalpara la coleccion Del Nuievo Album Universal Obsequio de Susini". The card was once pasted in a book and glue spots on the back. I have been told that this may a picture of Tris Speaker but I don't know how to confirm.

The second card is almost square and depicts Carrigan (Boston). It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 21/32" tall. It is black and white with a blank back.

I have attached photos of the 2 cards. Any estimates of value would also be appreciated.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

Not to be outdone, the National Hockey League has announced that not only will several fans be beaten every period, but one lucky fan each game will be run over by the Zamboni.

A dealer from PA was selling it along with a Cy Young. He said he submitted a scan to SCD to look into its origins.

Posted By: leon
I too have seen some of those for sale and the descriptions said it was Speaker. Seems there was a lot of 3-4 of them, individually sold, on ebay some time ago....obviously international cards....I think we'll find the answer to that one. As for the bottom one what's already been said is what I have known too....good luck

Posted By: Rick
The top one is a susini 1915 made in Cuba

Kind of generic images...some people claim its Speaker, usually sellers are the ones making this claim.

Sometimes they go for 20 bucks ..sometimes they go for over 100...all over the place for these cards.

they are part of a huge set that includes many sports ...i think there are 3 or 4 baseball related.

Not terribly rare considering the age.
