Net54 December contest....we have a WINNER

Posted By: leon
Here is a contest for all of us looking at the board on a nice Sunday morning. If these questions get answered too quickly (today), I will have another contest this coming week which will be "guess the final price", so even more folks can play. The winner will get this neat Ruth Stereoscope below....btw, there is a bonus question with this quiz. IF the winner guesses the bonus question right too, then they get $50 extra. You can decide if you want to wait and try to get the bonus or stick with the stereoscope. IF you try for the bonus and someone else answers all 3 questions before you then you lose both prizes. If they only answer the 1st 2 questions, then you still win as you were first. I will be the final decision on the contest in case of any issues. regards

The questions are:

1. Who published the pamphlet "Directory of the J.R Burdick Collection"

2. Who wrote the introduction in this pamphlet?

bonus question*3. What association do I have with the publisher?

Good luck !!!!

edited questions to be exact....and changed the bonus from author to publisher

Posted By: leon
Keep going....I will show you the answers when someone gets it. Ya'll are close. On the bonus question you will need to be a little more specific. When I tell the answers you will understand. SO, who was publisher on the 1st question...and on the 2nd who did the "Introduction"? ....it's in black and white when I show you....thanks for thinking. Also, what better way to do a question than snooping around info related to the grandfather of collecting? regards

edited to add....I have edited the initial questions to be exact....I had to do this imo....I needed to make this a tad difficult...

Posted By: barrysloate
The introduction was definitely Mayor; I don't see a publisher listed on my copy unless you consider it the Metropolitan Museum, however Burdick is credited with writing the Directory.

And was I actually close on #3? It was a pure guess, of course. I have no idea.
