I worked with Kershaw's step-mom here in Dallas, and knew his dad Chris. They were always very friendly and humble, and I adopted a rescue dog from them after they had brought it in off the street. I haven't talked to either of them in the last couple years, and I just googled them to maybe get back in touch with Carolyn. I'm sad to learn that Clayton's dad Chris passed away a little more than a year ago.
Like Clayton, he was brought up here in Dallas and lived a pretty interesting life. As far as I know, Chris once helped coach both Clayton Kershaw and Matt Stafford together when they were playing baseball and football at Highland Park HS. I've never met Clayton but his dad was a pretty cool dude.
