My wife and I were recently cleaning out some of our old stuff from when we lived in St. Louis. I came across a box of various pins and cards from the Cardinals and when I saw Lou’s pin I remembered this thread – I don’t think this has been posted yet.

This was issued to fans to commemorate the unveiling of his statue in front of Busch Stadium. The Cardinals did a great job with these and whenever a new statue was unveiled they gave out a commemorative pin, which is attached to a card that describes the event. I believe there is a typo on Lou's card, but maybe I'm reading it wrong – the statue was unveiled in the 25th anniversary year (not 20th) of Lou's 1974 stolen-base record.
