I believe the lawsuit was over signed bats, if I recall correctly.
It's been years since I read it, but the memorabilia fiasco was covered in great detail in
Joe DiMaggio: The Hero's Life.
My takeaway was Joe was not someone you wanted to have business dealings with. Of course, I have no sympathy for B&J Collectibles.
