that being said I agree with your assessment and am more leaning towards fantasy piece now....

The Ruth "Maple Drive Dairy" tag that was listed used the exact same modern text on reverse. Also interesting to note the mocked up dairy calendar the seller is also selling. The calendar looks nothing like a period advertising calendar and is made up of odd elements.
Who would have used black and white images on an advertising calendar?

I know that doesn't give much more info on the "penny arcade" cards, but more guilt by association I guess.
