Net54 Code: For new members FYI
There are certain things stated in posts that new members may want to know what they mean. Sometimes the literal meaning isnt what the actual meaning is and some need context to explain it. (May or may not be some humor involved)
After a card has been listed with a Price for awhile, you see
'Taking Offers' That means, "I still want the same price or very very close to the same price I have been listing for weeks'
'Firm' - means will be price drop in the days to come
'glws' means either 'Good luck with the sale' or 'You will need luck to sell that card at that price'
'Taking Reasonable Offers' If not price is listed, then that means want market price plus 10%, if a price is listed that means within 5% of the asking price, but the asking price is 20% over the market price
'OP' 'Other' poster or 'original poster'
'WTB' Means want to buy a card for a price range that is less than ebay or other available place unless its not available anywhere else.
'FS' Means I want the ebay price on the card plus 10% (but in a few days there are price drops)
'Nice card' Means I love the card but refuse to pay the price for it for many reasons.
'Great card and price as i bought a PSA lower graded card for more and would buy it except for that prior purchase' Means that card listed is overpriced and no way iI will ever buy the card even if didnt purchase the PSA lower graded card, and probably never even made the prior purchase to begin with
When a member says ' I need help pricing something for a friend/relative' That means there is no friend or relative and they are not going to sell privately to anyone due to a great fear they may not get every single possible retail dollar. They also already have 'valued' the card in their minds to over the market pricing and are just looking for someone to help corroborate their value. In the end, they just keep the cards, i mean their friend does.
'Need to sell the card due to illness/urgent 'fill in the blank' That means they do not need to sell the card, you will often see the card listed for months/years for the 'urgent' matter.
