In his article on MBs in SCD, Carlton has argued that all MBs, including the Ryan are variations to the main set ( I realize some have disagreed with that premise in prior threads). At this point I agree with others that the base Ryan gets more love, and most MBs in general end up being well handled cards in lesser condition since distributed with the game board. But if MBs get more recognition over time, either as a set or a variation, you could be glad you went the MB route
