Default Quite the surprise in today’s mail

Didn’t hear the mailman at all, but when leaving the house, had a box from Benchmark Printing sitting on the front step. Could hardly wait to get home from errands, because I knew in the box would be an REA Auction catalog. Hadn’t kept track, didn’t know an auction was going on, but always happy to see all the things I’ll never be able to afford.

When I got home, ripped open the box, peeled off the cellophane wrap and inhaled that intoxicating scent of ink and varnish. Decided it might actually be easier to view the items online, so sat at the keyboard, logged in and prepared to be amazed.

It wasn’t until then I saw that the website said the Fall auction would be starting in November, and what I received today was the catalog for the August auction.

Note to self ... if we move again, make sure to contact Brian and the wonderful folks at REA that I have a new address, so that one-day shipping catalog doesn’t arrive almost two months after the auction ends.
