Regarding post WWII vintage, I have no doubt that Mantle, Mays, Robinson, Aaron, key 1952 topps cards, etc fit into the blue chip discussion as well. I just don’t play in that playground much and don’t know if the fact that these cards tend to be more available/common compared to cards from before 1940 makes a difference.
Call me crazy, but isn’t this auction exclusively for pre-war items?

For pre-war items to be at the top of the list when they are the only ones on the list, well, the probability of such a result does seem to be strong.
