warshawlawThe question wasn't how much fun the event is (if so, the K would be right up there), the question is how useful a stat is, how it reflects success on the field. GWRBI isn't useful. It doesn't measure anything meaningful. It is only an accident of timing. Statistically, each run has the same value.
By contrast, each batter's disposition does not. That is why a pitcher who throws a lot of strikeouts is often a coveted commodity. I don't think it is a coincidence that the best short relievers are strikeout guys.
