Kevin OI caught the last four innings of the game. I've seen The Unit when he was at his best, but I don't believe I've seen anything quite as dominant as those last four innings. He was simply on a whole different level from everyone on the field. An 88 mph SLIDER in the NINTH inning? If you're over forty like I am, it makes the whole accomplishment that much more incredible. I've sweated like that just picking up my kid.
I'm not exactly a Braves fan, but you have to admit the crowd was right on target tonight. There were a lot of smart baseball fans who knew what they were seeing. The standing ovation at the end of the EIGHTH inning was pure class, and the Braves standing on the top step of the dugout in the ninth was a fine tribute to a great feat. Baseball at its best.
