JosephI love the New York Clipper. For me, their primary value is content--information about the early history of the game. Their financial value mainly comes from the images--mainly woodcuts--of ballplayers and places. In some cases, a portrait in the New York Clipper is the only known picture of a player. There are collectors of woodcuts (poke around this site for more info), but in general, a whole paper is always preferable to cut pages. As a frame of reference, here's a couple of links to Lew Lipset auctions.
