Default New to Site and Vintage Collecting

For card desriptions and checklists, you should get a copy of the the Standard Catalogue of Baseball Card by Bob Lemke (Krause Publications). Covers all eras, 1800s to today.

You should be able to gather a nice assortment of lower grade Pre-War Dodgers cards on a normal collecting budget. High quality issues like T206, T205 and Goudeys can be collected by most anyone.

Beyond the Topps and Bowmans, there are a lot of great 1950s-70s oddball cards that feature Dodgers. Bell Brand, Armour Coins, Swift Meats-- lots of great stuff, and all detailed in said Standard Catalog.
