Paul ArpasiI'm a collector and a physician. I try to always get a good deal in order to make the card an investment piece. The gentleman above who said that the investment is the price you pay for the card not the card itself is correct, in my opinion. I find that the large auction houses offer rare opportunities to obtain stuff you infrequently see on ebay or at shows but, unfortunately, buyers premiums and hobby millionaires keep me from looking in those arenas for cards. I choose therefore to continuously improve my collection by selling cards, buying cards which are a deal and trading cards adding discretionary income as I see fit. The fun after all is not paying whatever price is necessary to get a card. The fun is in looking looking looking and finally finding an item in a deal and at a price which is rewarding.
