Default 1887 Old Judge How to determine if it's real??

Hi everyone. I have an opportunity to buy some 1887 Old Judge cards, but I do not have a clue as to how to determine if they are authentic or not? Could someone with experince with these cards give me some tips as to what to look for. I get to see these cards in person so it's not like an ebay auction. What is the going rate for these cards and the HOF's that I would need to look for in this set? I appreciate the feedback.
