Default Let's Play a Game

Posted By: nbrazil

Relatively new to the board. Posted a few times in the past, but i usually just "lurk."

I tried this game out in the PSA message boards...and it didnt receive a warm response. So, i took my ball with me and brought it here. If it gets the same response (or non response), then i guess my game is not worthy to be patented.

I think most of us here are visual when it comes to baseball cards. And i think collectors are exhibitionists by nature. So, this game (and thread) captures these two facts.

The rules of the game are as follows:

I will post a card from my collection in this message. Your task is to post a scan of another card you own either of the same player from another set or a card from an entirely different set but produced in the same year. After this person posts his card, the next person who views this thread will use the previous posters card as the basis. So, for instance

I post a 1954 Topps Hank Aaron (you cannot post any 1954 topps cards)
The next person posts a 1963 Topps Hank Aaron
The next person posts a 1963 Fleer Sandy Koufax
The next person posts a 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax
The next person posts a 1955 Topps Doubleheaders Ted Williams

and so on.

The card you post must also:

-be a picture. So, dont just provide a player name and set...you need to put up a picture as well.
-be from your own personal collection. Dont steal from ebay!
-be from 1950 or before (i know the above example includes cards after 1950...but, i just used it to explain how the game works).

Post the scan of the card...the player name...and the set/year it comes from.

I'm not sure if there is a "winner" in this game. Maybe it should be the person who posts a card where the two conditions cant be met (i.e. no one on the board has a card of that player from another year or a card from a different set from the same year). Or maybe the winner is the person with the most "replies." The point of this thread is to share some of the cards you have in your collection. Let's see how long this thread can last. If it doesnt last long, then either someone "won" or no one found this game fun. If it's the latter...at least i tried!

Let's start: An easy one...

1909 T206 Ty Cobb
