Default EBAY how long should you wait

Posted By: Keith

10 days after the auction ends, I report the buyer as a non paying bidder. Usually that is enough to get the bidder to pay. If they pay and everything is settled, the buyer isn't penalized by ebay. If they don't pay - I think 3 of the nonpaying bidder notices gets them booted from ebay.

If that process fails, I get my fees back from ebay and email the seller giving him 3 days before I leave negative feedback. I also state in the email that I have done everything I could to complete this transaction and the buyer has failed to meet his end. I tell him if he doesn't reply/pay in 3 days I'll be leaving negative feedback, and if they try to negative feedback unjustly back to me, they will be hearing from my lawyer for slander.

I have left 3 or 4 negative feedbacks, and have yet to receive retaliation. If I did, I don't know if that lawyer thing would be worth it or work. Any lawyers on the board have opinions? Probably a waste of time and money, but I wonder if its been done before.
