The examples posted from my site came from a California man who's long deceased relative (great grandfather?) had been a travelling salesman in Texas. The family assumed he must have hawked Boston Garters. The guy originally emailed me and said he had bunch of Boston Garters, including some still stuck together (they were issued in panels of I think four cards). I wasn't sure whether or not to beleive him, but he sent me jumbo crystal clear images. The cards are so rare, and many of the examples he provided I'd never even seen images of before, that I knew the only way he could give me the images was if he or someone he knew scanned the genuine cards. I did not buy them (someone else did), but the family member let me use the images on my site.
