John SI am no fan nor a collector of the Black Sox players. Blame whomever you want, they cheated (and I understand that some of the eight may been innocent and other guilty players behind the scenes were not punished) and their greed could have destroyed the game. It baffles me how their actions and the entire scenario have been romanticized. Many will argue that they were victims, but it was not like these guys were starving. Compare their salaries with the average American in 1919.
Maybe eighty years from now they will be writing books and Broadway musicals about the poor mistreated steroid abusers of the early 21st century.
