Judge Dred (Fred)Here's Caruthers in an at bat pose. He's probably most well known as a great 19th century pitcher but he wasn't bad with a bat. He had a .282 lifetime batting average with two pretty good back to back seasons at bat: he was fourth in batting in 1886 with a .334 average and fifth in batting in 1887 with a .357 (American Association)
