Default Colby Jack and Bobby Coombs exhibit

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy

I happened upon an exhibit poster in a rare book shop promoting an exhibit featuring Colby Jack Coombs and his nephew Bobby Coombs last week. I finally got a chance to visit the "Brick Musuem" in Kennebunk, Maine today.

It was well worth the visit. Some of the highlights included: a huge Philadelphia A's team cabinet that was probably 4' by 3', Carl Horner Cabinet of Jack Coombs, 1910 WS Pin, 1910 Button, A's pennant, T204, T201, M116, several W601s, and dozens of other team cabinets and photos. Unfortunately, the exhibit ends tomorrow. As I had hoped, Ira Thomas was in many of the team issues.

Many of the items seen in the exhibit may be one-of-a-kind. The artifacts belong to Jack Coombs relatives!
