The first pre-war card I ever purchased was a Dooin/Titus T201. Picked it up in an antique mall in Vermont in the 1980s. Up until that point, I was strictly a memorabilia collector. I used to have tons of old wooden tennis rackets, old gloves, bats, catcher masks, and even had two early inflatable chest protectors. Eventually, I decided cards would make for a better display and take up less room. Of couse, I now have 4 display cases of cards. I still have a few old baseballs, several spider masks,a Balfour baseball trophy, and and an awesome D&M cloth catcher's mitt.
