Peter_SpaethPaul isn't saying it's right, only that it is a fact of life that frequently sellers and consignors are not going to let their items go unless they reach a certain level. One can quibble about ethical distinctions but functionally it is no different than an undisclosed reserve. Personally, it doesn't really bother me for the reasons Paul stated, if I am willing to buy a card at a price I don't agonize about whether I could have paid less.
