Default OT- Anyone know where to find retired player addresses for autographs?

The son of a guy I know did through the mail in recent years and had decent success with HOFers. That he was a kid and wrote like a kid helped. Players would prefer to respond to a kid than an adult. Also the dad had the son read about the player first so the letter would show that the kid knew about the player and his career.

Remember to keep the envelope from the player for posterity. When writing about a large through the mail collection, Mike Gutierrez said that the original postmarked envelope is one of the strongest signs that the accompanying autograph is authentic. And many collectors like to display the envelope with the autograph when matting and framing. Both for collecting taste and authentication reasons, the autograph with envelope is worth more financially than just the autograph.
