Default personal collecting questions

Posted By: Ted Holden

1. What is your focus today, in collecting?
Type cards. While I have managed to put together complete sets of many "modern" cards, that is 1948-1959, Topps, Bowman and others, those will all be sold eventually and I will only keep my type cards.

2. What are the 3 cards you need most?
Kalamazoo Bats, Texas Tommy & Blanket. I don't really care who the player might be, and condition (for the Kazoo Bat and Texas Tommy) have got to be low for my budget. I have a new fascination for the blankets and am looking for more than just one.

3. Do you like to trade, buy, or a combination when you do acquire your needs?
Combination, but mostly buy.

4. Has the economy forced you to sell things you wouldn't have otherwise?
No.

5. What is your absolute favorite series, why?
1956 Topps. These are the first cards where I have vived memories of opening packs. My happiest day was finding my 56 Mantle in a 5 cent pack.

6. How do you enjoy acquiring your cards most- Ebay, auction, BST, shows etc...?
Large auction lots.

7. What do you do for a living, how old are you and where do you live?
Retired from banking (luckily before all this current crap started). I have an ebay business selling cards, with a specialty in the 1950s & 1960's in all sports. I am 62 and live in Plano, Texas, not all that far from Leon.

Texas Ted
