Arguments along the lines of the following " . . . but I also knew it was unlikely I would use too many of the features . . . " miss an important point ---- you didn't have to use any of the new features if you did not want to. What you did end up successfully doing, however, is prevent others who may have wanted to use new features from even having them available. It's really a shame.
