Default 5 Sports Books from the estate of Ripper Collins (On Ebay)

Posted By: Jerry Rucker

Many years ago I acquired a few books from the estate of James "Rip" Collins. The famous First Sacker of the St. Lois Cardinals Gas House Gang teams. I am offering 5 of these books up for sale in one lot. All 5 of the Books has his rubber stamp inside on a blank leaf page. Most of the books have his stamp outside on the DJ. The Knute Rockne Book has his autograph dated Feb. 1934. This would be a great year for Ripper as he would hit .333 lead the league in RBI's, Hr's, & Slugging and the Gas House Gang would win the WS in 7 games over the Tigers. A great Year for the Ripper. Redwings Collectors must know tht Ripper tore up the minor leagues where he still holds records such as 180 RBI's in 1930 with the Redwings.

Anyway the Books are all in excellent condition with just some toning inside. The dust Jackets are tattered with the Rockne DJ, missing the spine portion.
The Books are as follows.

  • Rockne "Idol of American Football" Robert Harron Copy. 1931
  • Clowning Through baseball (Al Schacht) Copy 1941
  • They Played The Game (Harry Grayson) Copyright 1944
  • Best Sports Stories 1951 (Many Sportswriters) Copyright 1951
  • 100 Years of baseball (Lee Allen) Copyright 1950</li>
