The percentage of Cobb (Red) examples with the Piedmont 42 back appears to exceed by a large margin the overall percentage of 350/460 subjects that bear the Piedmont 42 reverse. I have noticed this trend for years, but can't explain it. I would caution against modifying any back scarcity rankings based on a Cobb (Red) survey; Cobb (Red) seems to be an outlier when it comes to Piedmont 42.
