Default Kahns

To my knowledge there was no "find" of Kahn's cards. Starting in 1964? Kahn's made sets of their cards available by mail making it possible to get cards that never touched the inside of a hot dog package. Apparently many people did so and saved them in pretty nice shape. That said, I think you need to Seperate 1966 a bit from the rest. Although on a percentage basis - almost 59% of those graded are 8 or higher, there are only 204 total cards that have been graded. The highest population card is Roberto Clemente - with 12 graded (7-8's, 2-9's) compare that with 2,449 Clemente rookies (116 graded 8 or higher) and in absolute terms, the 66 Kahns are pretty scarce cards. So yes, when you find them, they will likely be in unusually good condition, but finding them is not easy. Onto the 1967-1969's. These appear to have increased in popularity as the 3 last years seem to be much more plentiful - 1967-576 graded (407 - 8 or higher), 1968-458 graded (308 - 8 or higher), 1969-506 graded (374-8 or higher). Much more plentiful translating into 20-30 graded population of a given player. IMO at 2.50 a pop, you are "stealing" them.
Now if you really want to talk tough, try collecting kahn's cards from 1955-1960!

PS. I am always looking to buy Kahn's cards from the 1950's and ANY PSA 5 or higher Clemente Kahn's.

Pps. I have for sale Complete set's of Kahn's from 1965 and 1967. PM me for details.
