Jim ... That is one outstanding image of an early team .....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm willing to bet that one, or a few of our image aficionados will add info about this team image.

OK image diggers ... Go get 'em!

Dan, I'm glad you chimed in .....

I looked at these threads, the images are gone, but the entries by the diggers are thought provoking.

Most of the guys who like to identify old photos like these are over on the Memorabilia side so I may move this over there if it doesn't get any action here.

thanks dan-my wife and I have tried to look at the yearbooks like you said but not getting much

the guy sitting front row far left reminds me of Jeremy J. Nashvillebaseball
(Hi Jeremy). I have only met you once at the National but he looks like a relative of yours. Any relatives from Okalahoma? Looks Native American.

anyway hope to keep this going a bit

Why not place it over on the Memorabilia side, and keep it over here.
That way we'll have a double barrel activity in the Bull Pen.

It isn't every day that a baseball forum can help a fellow member with a personal baseball research.

Go ahead and make the same post on the memorabilia side Jim and I'll leave this one here.

Now that's what makes a forum, a fun forum.

The competition is on.

The Memorabilia Guys vs The Cardoholics.

Go Sickos Go!

The cadet collars on jerseys appeared in the major leagues beginning, I believe, in 1909 (see for ex. Cubs), along with the vertical lettering. It did not stay popular long - just a few years. (see also PCL teams for similar).

I would say U of Oklahoma is a good guess if your wife's grandfather may have attended - directly contacting their athletic dept miay be a good place to start.

- Interesting you mention this b/c after looking at that photo, it reminded me of my Dad as there are a few photo's of my father we have when he was younger that look very similar to that dude and yes, we have Native American Indian in us ! Also, English and German !! Our families are from Kentucky/Tennessee area. I do have some relatives in Oklahoma, but not sure of origins.... You never know. That fella could be my great uncle ! lol
