Regarding your........" Are there any definitive theories on why thiese six super-prints
seem so sparce...or, why there were two different shades of green employed? "


My guess is they were short-printed, as these 6 super-prints are scarcer than the 46
subjects in the 460 series of the Sovereign set.

Regarding the color (apple green) difference of the 350 series backs of these cards....
these 6 are part of a 66-card run of Sovereign subjects whose backs were printed with
this color. Why this was done is a mystery. Here is a list of these 66......
