If somebody spends $18,000 (or $100,000) on a card
and adds it to their collection I don't think anyone in the hobby is going to bash the buyer. It's when you spend that much money on something you have little appreciation of, strictly as a speculative venture, that you open yourself up to bashing.
As a side note, I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the flipper's eBay handle code is d***a.
