Lately I have seen a handful of Jeter sweet spot signed balls with "the Captain" and other inscriptions on eBay. They appear to be authentic, but it is odd they did not have Steiner certification. (Some had PSA.)

Sadly, it is unusual to see SS signed with an inscription that is not Steiner. They must have been signed for a friend or some insider. There is no way he is signing like that for someone on the street.
