Koufax is also an interesting case study, like Ted Williams, but even to a greater degree, Koufax will not sign, as a business venture, unless real money is put forward. Very true. I have had the opportunity to see Mr. Koufax twice over the past 5 years, and each time he was extremely accommodating. To the point I was shaking my head that Sandy Koufax was taking his time to sign autographs for a bunch of collectors and dealers. And then we get the drive by or wave from some bench warmer.
