I've been working on a 12"x16" oil painting study of Ty Cobb. I really liked the photo so thought I would try my hand at a black and white study. I 1st did some quick drawings studies of eye, ear, ect. (

Then found one of my old unused canvases and did the pencil drawing, and took a few photos of different stages of the work.
I haven't painted in years, and have never tried to do a representational portrait before. When I did paint a lot it was in a modern abstract style of the cubist era.
This is a tuff place to show ones artwork because of Greg Kreindiers amazing work is sooooooo great. But please enjoy my 1st effort into sports art.
