You are correct. The 62 set was available only on boxes. There are a dozen or so cards that are extremely tough to get. The 63 set was available through a mail in offer. The cards from the mail in, can be identified by their crisp white borders. There was an album available in which to paste the cards. The album exists in both French and English.
It should be noted that both sets have variations that if collected would make a "Master" set possible. 10 variations in the 62 set. 20 in the 63.
