Leon- from 1905 on, after the Mills Commission delivered its findings, it was gospel that Abner Doubleday invented baseball. Every schoolboy knew that, I knew it when I was growing up, and the Hall of Fame was built with Doubleday as the game's founding father.

And we were all wrong. History has a way of evolving, and sometimes the myths we believe in are just that, myths. Likewise, the findings of Burdick, while monumental, almost certainly have errors that will one day be corrected.
