D317 Thompson, SGC 88 -- $70 $60 $45 SOLD

How can I pay?

I accept personal checks, money orders, PayPal if buyer covers the fees, paper currency in small non-sequential bills, gold, land, cattle, dry goods, spirits, ammunition, and personal services. I’ll also consider trades and trade/cash combinations if you have something I’m looking for.

Fine. What are you looking for?

My first rule is “The rarer the better.” I like D cards and the various New Orleans issues, and I’m always looking for 1921 Tip Top Orioles, 1925 Holland Creameries, Tarzan Bread, Plow Boy, Plow’s Candy, and any of the tougher cards of WaJo or the Rajah. I can provide a much lengthier description of exactly what I’m looking for if you really want to know, or you can just tell me what you have to offer.

What’s the deal with Musial?

I bought this card from a Cuban-American baseball card dealer in Miami, and I believe that is the only time it has been sold since 1946. I sent it to SGC myself, with my own bare hands, people. None in this grade have ever been sold. The combined SGC/PSA population reports indicate 22 of these – 21 of which were graded in the 0-2 range. (You can look it up.) This is the other one. I submit that what you are looking at here is the world’s greatest Stan Musial card.

I really don’t know what that makes it worth at auction, but I’m willing to let it go here if I get a generous offer, whether cash or trade. (The PSA 10 1948 Bowman Musial went for $130,000. I’m willing to sell for less than twice that amount).
