My two cents: there seems to be a lot of attention being given right now to the most significant cards of iconic players that most collectors are familiar with. There may be a bit of a backslide, since these cards are not all that tough, even in "7," but I wouldn't be surprised to see them established at these and even higher levels. As the hobby matures, more and more of the big guys, to whom money is the least of their worries, will come in, just as in coins and cars. A '71 426 Hemi Cuda convertible recently sold for $3.4 million--they only made 12--while a 1913 Liberty Head nickel (5 in existence) sold for $5.7 million not too long ago.
