1948 Bowman #107 Sid Luckman RC Chicago Bears QB '39-'50 Pro Football HOF 1965. Bears owner and coach George Halas convinced the Pittsburg team to draft Luckman and trade him to the Bears. That was until Halas visited Luckman and his wife in their small apartment with a $5,500 contract (he signed it). At the end of the 1943 season he volunteered and served stateside with the Merchant Marine and although he wasn't allowed to practice with the team he was allowed to play on game day. Died in 1998.
