I found this ad on page 380 in the Jan 1928 issue of Baseball Magazine (E.S. Barnard cover), for the Walter Mails Baseball Game.

The Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards has the issue date as 1923, and I believe its been further identified as a 1924 issue (so listed at Old Cardboard website). The ad suggests it was at least still for sale through beginning of 1928. Looks like Walter Mails may have been trying to unload remaining inventory on holiday shoppers in December 1927, assuming the magazine would have come out before the holidays. I sure wish I found this set in my stocking this past Christmas!
